One of the most consistently hip spots in BA, Jet is a place where you’re guaranteed to have a great time any night of the week. From thursday to Saturday Jet is always a good option-during the week it’s the perfect place to start the night off, but Saturdays are the biggest nights, as Jet remains packed well into the morning hours. The music can be described as a blend of mainstream indie and disco remixes which draws a significant crowd. Basically, the phrase that best describes Jet is “all roads lead to Rome” because no matter what they’ve done earlier, people always end up meeting at Jet even without planning it.

‘From the moment you arrive, you know that Sucre is innovative, striking, and refreshingly unique. Before you taste the food, in fact, before you even look at the menu, Sucre’s interior design, which you might call a sort of “polished or refined industrial” (complete with exposed girders and pipes) sets the tone of the place. Chef and owner Fernando Trocca takes a creative approach with respect to his dishes, turning the ordinary into extraordinary by adding a personal flare and some theatrics to what would otherwise be common dishes. For example, the “bloody mary” ceviche is one of a kind. For the wine aficionado, Sucre is also the place for you, as the wine list is extensive and impressive.

Originally from Lima, Osaka opened a BA location in 2005, and has been a favourite here ever since. The cuisine is best described as “Asian/Peruvian Fusion”; Osaka offers a remarkable dining experience by creatively combining culinary traditions from opposite ends of the earth. It is especially well known and recognized as first-rate for its phenomenal sushi, but after you take even a cursory look at the menu, you realize that top-notch sushi is just the tip of the iceberg. Salmon with passion fruit, slow cooked octopus with kalamata olive sauce, and flounder with a chilli/cilantro/lime glaze, are just a few examples of the unique offerings you can expect to find on the menu. The combination of what one visitor called Osaka’s “fun urban vibe” and its truly unmatched creative blend of Asian and Peruvian cuisines, guarantees not only a delicious meal, but also a one-of-a-kind experience.

Le Bar is a stylish bar with cutting edge interior design that contrasts with the colonial building it occupies. It’s a great place to go to impress a date, check out the srt displays or listen to DJs on the terrace.

A huge bar counter, booth seating, fairy lights and big moon lamps – this is not your classic French café. Nevertheless, La Cigale, a forerunner among late-night drinking dens, popular among French expats and music-loving tourists, has an impressive roster of DJs spinning anything from kitsch Rat Pack classics to electropop and darkwave.

A first class Argentine Parilla, La Cabrera offers an expansive variety of dishes, however, try to agree with someone else and share one dish. A half portion is much more appropriate for one person. Even if you are a big eater with an insatiable appetite, take our advice because in addition to an enormous serving, many delicious appetizers and side plates just arrive on the table. Also, because the actual space is not very large, be sure to make reservations in advance.

This tiny restaurant is exactly what one would expect to find in Italy, and has been described as unique and impossible to recreate or imitate. The food is served according to the motto of ci penso io which means that they just bring out food and as the patron you have the opportunity to taste a number of dishes, all of great quality.

Green Bamboo’s original ambience complete with low tables, cushions, and creative decorations allows for a truly authentic Vietnamese feeling- right up to the giant Buddha that sits on the bar looking towards the front door. But its not just Green Bamboo’s appearance that sets it apart from the crowd; the food is unlike anything offered anywhere else in the city. Everything on the menu carefully combines flavours and arrives beautifully presented. The bar is also something that should not be missed during a stay in Buenos Aires; the cocktails are all delicious and very well made.

Casa Cruz is the most daring and imaginative restaurant venture to ever hit this city. Head chef German Martitegui calls the cuisine “Modern Urban Argentinian”, and due to his talent Casa Cruz is without a doubt one of the top spots in BA. Every night the crimson dining room is completely full of A-listers enjoying rabbit medallions on raison puree, poached lamb tenderloin, or truffle oil risotto, pickled peaches and duck confit. For a more laid back experience (but equally delicious cuisine), Martitegui also runs “olsen” a Scandinavian inspired restaurant with a beautiful patio and garden which offers a more casual menu.

Every Wednesday Museum is where you want to be for their after-office parties and biggest night of the week- but don’t forget to dress to impress. The building itself is quite impressive, designed by Gustave Eiffel (as in the Eiffel tower), and it’s become one of BA’s top nightlife spots. Girls get in free before 10pm. Friday and Saturday nights are also quite popular and draw a significant number of house and techno fans.

A mid-sized club in Palermo, Kika is a relatively safe bet any night if you happen to be in Palermo and want to dance. Its smaller size actually has its benefits; even after 7 caipiroskas you might still be able to find your friends. The impressive VIP section looks down from above and tends to fill up quickly which only accentuates its exclusivity. The music can change depending on the time and night, but as Kika boasts two dancefloors, the front room DJ usually sticks with 80s and 90s hits, commercial, and pop, while the back room DJ for the most part spins electronic and house.

Alsina 940 has been completely redone recently. With a five story wall completely covered with flat screens, crystal chandeliers, 360 degree upper level, and expansive dance floor, Alsina 940 always draws a good crowd. On Wednesday from 7pm to 1030pm stop in for the after office party which is one of the city’s biggest, or if you like the after scene, be sure to go on Sunday at 3pm for one of the most renowned afters BA offers. Additionally, Alsina 940 hosts a top international DJ once a month; if your visit happens to coincide with one of these events, we definitely recommend attending.
We suggest that you go to Rumi on a Wednesday night; since it’s informally known as Rumi’s night, a lot of people turn up after cocktails and dinner, and the place ends up filled to the rafters. You’re sure to have a fantastic time, as long as you go early enough to get in without waiting in a ridiculously long queue (that means don’t show up much later than 2am- waiting too long is a major buzz kill and can ruin a night). The music is exceptional, and the Wednesday night crowd tends to be one of BA’s most glamorous.

Often frequented by the young trendy and sophisticated, Mute has become a must for a BA visit. The food is impressive with an ample selection, but the main attraction is the drinks, DJs and music that begin towards the end of dinner time. We especially recommend Mute on Wednesday nights- after dinner time, head over to Las Cañitas for great cocktails and amazing music.

Located in hip Puerto Madero overlooking the river, El Clan is the perfect setting for dinner or drinks outside on the terrace. The cuisine offered is exquisite- the pastas, fish, and meats are all prepared beautifully. After dinner the restaurant becomes a favourite bar, and plays rock music mixed with electronica beats.
